Top Award For Top Floor– Top Floor took centre stage at the end of October when Esti Barnes' ‘Esquire’ rug was awarded the title of British Design of the Year at Elle Decoration’s British Design Awards 2008. Founder and Design Director of Top Floor, Esti was presented with the award at an evening of celebration mounted in central London at the end of October and attended by the Who’s Who in UK design excellence. The 'Esquire' was the winner from a shortlist of 15 products (including furniture and lighting) by key names in British design, including Barber Osgerby, Tom Dixon, Matthew Hilton and Ron Arad, ‘Esquire’ caught the imagination of Elle Decoration’s readership and floored the competition to carry off the prize. "It’s an overwhelming honour to win British Design of the Year for 'Esquire'. Elle Decoration is a magazine which consistently champions design excellence in the UK across all disciplines,” commented Esti Barnes. This is the second award that 'Esquire' has won; last year it was awarded Best of Year in its category at the awards presented by the prestigious US magazine, Interior Design. |
