2020 is set to be Topfloor’s busiest year yet, so we thought it was about time we shared some of what’s to come. While we, and the rest of the design industry, look toward navigating a post-Brexit landscape, we are also implementing a number of interesting initiatives that will allow us to reach further into the interior design industry and expand our business. We will be expanding not only our projects, but also into new and exciting product areas.
Sustainability should be at the fore of any design-lover’s mind, particularly as we look for new ways to reduce human impact on the environment and tackle climate change. Adding to our Naturals range, we will be introducing new flat-weaves to our offering, using sustainably-sourced materials such as jute, cotton and linen. With these new products, we will be able to offer a larger selection of beautiful, but also sustainable, rug and carpet designs to environmentally-conscious designers and private clients. Looking for inspiration? Here are three of our favourite ideas for eco-friendly interior transformation.
We believe that collaboration is key to replenishing creativity, and we are thrilled to announce that we are currently working with San Francisco-based artist Gianluca Franzese to develop a new limited edition rug collection. Now internationally-renowned as an artist, he is the son of a jewelry maker, and was a pupil of the old masters of Italian art. Franzese began painting early in life, soon moving through realist, expressive, and narrative styles. With a background in decorative painting, his style has evolved to form mesmerizing geometric patterns, executed by hand in the same fashion as Bridget Riley and Victor Vasarely, making him the perfect collaborator for Topfloor. We look forward to sharing more from our collaborative collection in the coming months.
2019 saw us tasked with designing and making furniture for one of our inspiring international clients, all as part of a larger residential commission in the USA. Following this interesting development of our design practice, we are now exploring new product opportunities that will see us expanding into more residential projects, as well as the ever-changing and growing hospitality sector, encompassing public sector projects too. We look forward to imagining and realising new and innovative styles, featuring bold colours and multi-use items that blend our existing philosophies with the evolving needs of our clients and collaborators.
